It’s been a huge week for WWE as it was announced that Monday Night Raw will be moving to Netflix in 2025 and it was also announced that The Rock had been appointed to the WWE Board of Directors.
Not only was Dwayne Johnson appointed to the TKO Board of Directors, but he was also given full ownership of “The Rock” name. Specific details regarding The Great One’s new role with TKO have not been officially revealed. However, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the former WWE Champion will likely have a lot of influence.
“The WWE hiring and firing would be Nick Khan and the talent would be Paul Levesque. Dwayne would be part of the crew that oversees them. As far as other types of directions and stuff he would have input but he would not be directly on the firing and hiring. Would he have influence? Hell yeah. Anything he wants to have influence on he will have influence on. He’ll have a seat at the table and they’ll listen but it will not be his purview.”
The Rock returned to WWE TV during Day 1 Raw a few weeks ago and he ended his promo when he teased a potential match with Roman Reigns. As of this writing it’s not clear when The Rock could return to WWE programming. Stay tuned for updates.
