It was recently reported that Andrade had requested to be released from his WWE contract, and the former NXT Champion took to Twitter to confirm that the rumors were true shortly after.
On Sunday night WWE confirmed that Andrade had been released from his contract when the company posted the following announcement on WWE.com:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors.”
Fightful Select reports that people in WWE were surprised to hear that the company released Andrade, as they were told that his release request would not be immediately granted. It seems that over the last week the company had a change of heart.
Andrade will have to wait out his 90 day non compete clause, but it’s believed that he’ll be able to start working for other companies on June 20.
As we previously reported Andrade filed a trademark for his next ring name, and you can get more on that here.
