WWE announced today that effective immediately Triple H is back in power as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations. Fightful Select is reporting that one source indicated Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are flying to Boston for SmackDown tonight. It was noted that it’s typical for those three to hold a meeting when major shifts happen in the company.
Talent who spoke with Fightful about the move said that they all get along well with Triple H, and one top talent said that they don’t know why he was ever removed from his EVP role. Another talent added that Triple H will likely have to adapt to the company’s new vision for recruiting talent as opposed to the vision he had during the NXT black and gold era. A longtime talent said that they are happy with the move because Triple H is approachable, gets back to the talent, and understands what they’re going through.
NXT still being managed by Shawn Michaels, and even though Triple H will be recruiting talent again it’s not expected that NXT will be directly affected from a creative standpoint.
Triple H moving into the EVP role also signals that John Laurinaitis is done with the company. It’s being said that there was outright celebration from some top talent in the company when Laurinaitis was removed.
Bruce Prichard is also done with his interim talent relations role and will resume his job in creative. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
