Over the last few months there’s been a lot of speculation in regards to where the members of The Elite would be going, but it was recently confirmed that Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks & Adam Page have all signed with All Elite Wrestling.
However, WWE did make offers to the aforementioned talents.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE offered The Young Bucks roughly the same amount of money as AJ Styles.
WWE also wanted to make Being The Elite a weekly show on the WWE Network.
The company reportedly offered The Bucks a six month window where they could exit their three year contracts if they were unhappy with how the company was using them.
WWE was well aware of what was happening with the Khan family, and that Cody & The Bucks were in positions to become key players with AEW, which is why they tried so hard to lock them into deals.
People within WWE seemed certain that the deal wouldn’t be turned down, and told Dave Meltzer that The Young Bucks were set to debut at the Royal Rumble and work a significant storyline on the Road to WrestleMania.
When the team decided to sign with AEW, the backstage talk in WWE was that it was mind boggling that WWE would make The Bucks an offer at that level, only for it to be turned down.
The Young Bucks did 12 hours of talks with Triple H, and praised him for how he handled everything.
