On Saturday night MJF challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear and it was MJF who walked out with the gold. The finish saw William Regal turn on Jon Moxley when he handed brass knuckles to MJF which MJF used to win the match.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the finish was Tony Khan’s idea. There was reportedly another idea for the finish that was brought up by several of the most influential wrestlers, but Tony Khan was said to be strong on his plan for the finish.
It’s not known at this point in time what the other finish was. However, it’s believed that the other idea was just another was to get to MJF winning the belt. Moving forward there’s speculation that MJF and William Regal will be paired up similar to how Kenny Omega and Don Callis were used during Kenny Omega’s AEW World Title reign.
