It’s only been a few months since Daniel Bryan was cleared for in-ring competition, and already fans have seen him face some big names such as AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and more.
Daniel Bryan’s WWE deal is set to expire in September, and at this point he still hasn’t signed a new contract with the company.
The Wrestling Standard (formerly PW Stream) is reporting that WWE officials are viewing Bryan’s current run as his “farewell tour” since he hasn’t signed a new contract.
Original plans called for him to feud with Styles, Hardy and Samoa Joe at the end of the year, but the company wants to make the most out of his run while he’s still under contract.
The current plan is for The Miz to interfere in the SmackDown Tag Team Title match at Extreme Rules and have Miz cost Team Hell No the match in order to set up Bryan vs. Miz for SummerSlam.
It’s also being reported that Miz is expected to pick up the victory if Daniel doesn’t re-sign, but there has been talk of Bryan defeating Miz and possibly extending the feud to Hell in a Cell if Bryan signs an extension.
