It’s been months since fans have seen Sasha Banks make an appearance on WWE programming, but she was recently announced for C2E2 in Chicago in August.
Fightful Select reports that convention organizers who reached out to Mercedes Vernado’s reps were quoted a firm, specific rate. It was also noted that promoters who attempted to book her were told that she was only taking non-wrestling related bookings until January 1, 2023.
WWE has yet to officially confirm the release of the former SmackDown Women’s Champion, but one promoter who reached out noted that they, “can’t imagine her not being released at this point.”
It’s not clear at this point in time if Mercedes not taking wrestling related bookings is a personal preference, or if it has to do with something contractual. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
