Samoa Joe has been out of action for some time now dealing with a broken thumb, and it was announced earlier this week that Joe will be taking Dio Maddin’s spot on the WWE Raw commentary team.
Joe has been receiving praise for his commentary work, but don’t expect his move to the announce table to be permanent.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE feels that Samoa Joe is too valuable as a talent right now, so he’ll just be working the commentary role until his thumb heals.
Dio Maddin was written off TV a few weeks ago when he was attacked by Brock Lesnar and he has yet to return. Maddin is officially off the show and it was recently reported that Vince McMahon wasn’t happy with his work on commentary.
