Sami Zayn has been part of The Bloodline for sometime now, but his run with the group came to an end at the Royal Rumble when Sami refused to hit Kevin Owens with a steel chair and instead hit The Tribal Chief. The Bloodline then beat Sami Zayn down as Jey Uso walked out and it was recently reported that Sami Zayn is expected to face Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns has been the planned main event for Elimination Chamber since, “probably October and certainly early November.” It was also noted that the program getting so hot didn’t result in WWE changing any plans.
With Cody Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble and WWE only having one world champion it was announced earlier this week that Austin Theory will defend the United States Title inside the Elimination Chamber. The US Title match isn’t as strong as competitors fighting for a WrestleMania title shot inside the chamber, but the feeling is that Zayn vs. Reigns is so hot it doesn’t matter what else is on the show.
As of right now the planned title match for WrestleMania is Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns. As of last week a title win for Sami Zayn was not in the plans. Stay tuned for updates.
