Everyone has been talking about AEW following the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, and during Raw this week the fans chanted for “AEW.”
Sami Zayn appeared in a new live Q&A segment hosted by Corey Graves called Electric Chair. During the segment Zayn took questions from fans in the crowd, and he said that they can ask him about anything, even “about AEW.”
Bryan Alvarez mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that the fans were “legit fans” but their questions were screened.
Dave Meltzer noted that when he asked a backstage source about the AEW name-drop, all they said was “it was so f**king stupid.”
Bryan Alvarez followed up by saying he heard the line wasn’t scripted, but Meltzer noted that the person he spoke with was in the meeting before the show.
The name-drop was edited out of the clip that was uploaded to YouTube, but if you missed it you can see it below.
