Last weekend was a big one for WWE departures as Karrion Kross and Scarlett were both moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website after their contracts with the company officially expired. Ashante “Thee” Adonis also parted ways with the company and he issued a statement confirming that his deal was up.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Ashante “Thee” Adonis had a main roster contract, but was being used exclusively in NXT. WWE did a breakup angle with Adonis and Karmen Petrovic, and it’s being said that the angle was done to take him off television.
It was noted that it’s a bad position for someone with a main roster contract to be in NXT when WWE is making cuts. WWE essentially wrote him off TV and paid him for the last three months of his deal, which they would have had to do with a 90 day non-compete clause if the company had cut him.
Ashante “Thee” Adonis started working with WWE in 2019 and went on to officially sign with the company in 2020. He went on to join the NXT brand where he joined up with Hit Row. In October of 2021, Hit Row were called up to the main roster before all four members were released in November of the same year. Adonis eventually returned to WWE in August of 2022, but now it seems that his run with the company has come to an end.
