CM Punk got the wrestling world talking last month after it was revealed that Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated following a backstage incident at the All Out pay-per-view. Recently there’s been a lot of speculation about Punk returning to WWE and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that he’s currently in talks with the company.
Haus of Wrestling is now reporting that people from CM Punk’s camp have also said that they don’t believe the incidents that led to CM Punk’s AEW release would be held against him if he wanted to return to the company.
The belief in WWE at this time is if he does return to the company he will be part of the main roster. One WWE source reportedly said that they think it’s a “safe bet” CM Punk will be at Survivor Series in Chicago next month.
Following his termination from AEW, CM Punk returned to TV as a commentator for CFFC in mid-September and joked that would have time on his hands over the next two months. The comments immediately got fans talking about the possibility of CM Punk returning at Survivor Series.
