It’s been rumored for years now that WWE officials are interested in bringing Hulk Hogan back when the time is right, but the Hulkster has yet to make his return to the company.
Talk of Hulk Hogan’s return has been heating up recently as WWE released a statement to PWInsider confirming they’ve been in contact with Hogan. In the statement WWE said, “We have had discussions with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan) about how he can help others learn from his mistakes, however, he is not under any contract with WWE.”
It seems at this point that it’s a matter of when, not if, Hogan will return, and it’s believed that WWE is waiting for the right time to bring him back to avoid backlash from their sponsors.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that one possible idea for Hogan’s return would see him in a role where he would talk about how stupid he was to have said the things he said, in what would be a redemption/forgiveness storyline.
Hillbilly Jim has also reportedly asked for Hulk Hogan to induct him into the Hall of Fame this year.
It’s been speculated that Hogan could be the right person to replace Daniel Bryan as SmackDown Live General Manager, but as of right now Hulk Hogan taking over the position is just a rumor at this point.
As for his WrestleMania status, the former WWE Champion recently claimed on Twitter he will be watching the show on the WWE Network.
