The annual Survivor Series pay-per-view is set to air later this month, and with NXT being included in the brand warfare for the first time ever, fans expect to see quite a few triple threat matches at the event.
It’s common for the champions of each brand to face off in non-title matches, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the plan was for AJ Styles, Roderick Strong and Shinsuke Nakamura to face off at Survivor Series.
However, Dave Meltzer noted that he’s been told the secondary title bout won’t be that exact match, meaning either Styles or Nakamura could be losing their title.
Plans for AJ Styles have changed due to him getting involved with NXT, but before the program with NXT started he was earmarked to be the champion on 11/24.
There’s speculation that with Daniel Bryan entering a program with Shinsuke Nakamura he could end up winning the title to set up Bryan vs. Styles vs. Strong at Survivor Series.
