Back in January Drew McIntyre took his career to the next level when he won the men’s Royal Rumble match, and then he went on to defeat Brock Lesnar and win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36.
Since then Drew McIntyre has been taking on all comers, and it was recently announced that he’ll be defending the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler at Extreme Rules.
After Extreme Rules all eyes will be looking ahead to SummerSlam, and it looks like WWE has a big challenger in mind for McIntyre.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is currently setting people up for Randy Orton because Orton vs. Drew McIntyre is the big destination for SummerSlam.
This week on Raw Randy Orton got into a confrontation with Big Show, which was seemingly done to set up a match between the two at Extreme Rules.
