For weeks now the wrestling world has been talking about the launch of AEW Collision, and it looks like the show is set to be announced imminently. With the new show it seems that All Elite Wrestling is planning to split the roster.
Fightful Select reports that as of last week the belief was there would be a soft roster split for AEW Dynamite and Collision. However, it’s now being said that talent are expected a hard brand split, with the exception of many AEW champions, and there will be other exceptions here and there.
There’s currently no word on how the brand split will be determined, or if AEW will hold some type of draft, but the working plan is for the brand split to be firm. Bringing previously absent talents back to TV was previously planned out and the timing was strategic to go along with the launch of Collision.
Currently the working plan is to film AEW Rampage with Dynamite, and ROH with AEW Collision. It was also noted that there looks to be some WCW Nitro influence on the early graphics for Collision.
