During the special Winter Is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite back in December Sting made his return to the wrestling world, and since then he’s been getting involved in Darby Allin’s business.
Sting last wrestled when he challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions in 2015, but this week AEW confirmed that he will be competing at the upcoming AEW Revolution pay-per-view.
The former WCW Champion will be teaming up with Darby Allin to face off against Team Taz members Brian Cage and Ricky Starks in a street fight.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the street fight will “almost surely” be a cinematic match.
It was noted that AEW has to be careful as Sting is just shy of 62 with a bad neck and spinal stenosis. The idea is that a cinematic match would be better in terms of protecting Sting.
