Ever since Cody Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022 he’s been talking about finishing the story. The American Nightmare finally accomplished his goal last month when he defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Now everyone is waiting to see where his story will go from here.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there’s no big direction for Cody Rhodes until The Rock and Roman Reigns return. Cody is now officially part of the SmackDown roster, and it was noted that Randy Orton is the other biggest star on that brand, but WWE doesn’t seem to be doing anything when it comes to teasing a potential feud between them.
Cody Rhodes will be in action this weekend as he’s currently set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles at Backlash in France. There’s currently no word on who Cody’s next challenger will be following Backlash.
