Cody Rhodes impressed a lot of people at Hell in a Cell when he faced off against Seth Rollins in the main event even though he was injured. The American Nightmare has since undergone surgery to repair a torn pectoral tendon, and he’s currently recovering.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that while it’s been said Cody could be out of action for up to nine months most people, including Cody, expect it to be less. The idea is that a big return for Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble could be a selling point for the show.
WWE did film Cody’s surgery so the footage is set to be used in future promotional packages. There is talk that WWE will treat Cody’s return like they did Triple H’s return in 2002 and build it up to be a huge deal.
