Originally Brock Lesnar was set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Day 1 pay-per-view on Saturday, but Reigns was pulled from the event after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Brock Lesnar went on to face Big E, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens in a fatal 5 way match for the WWE Championship at Day 1, and when the main event was all said and done it was Lesnar who walked out with the gold.
Now Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com is reporting that the direction coming out of the Day 1 pay-per-view is Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship. During the Day 1 main event Bobby Lashley locked in the Hurt Lock on Lesnar and it had to be broken up by Big E.
It’s also being reported that WWE will still be moving forward with whatever the company had planned for Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at Day 1 before Reigns was pulled from the pay-per-view.
