Fans have seen some huge returns over the last few years such as CM Punk’s big return at Survivor Series in 2023. Ever since Punk returned the wrestling world has wondered if AJ Lee could return as well, and now it seems that the former WWE Divas Champion is getting ready to step back into the ring.
Following CM Punk’s segment with Becky Lynch on Monday Night Raw this week it was reported on Wrestling Observer Live that AJ Lee will be teaming with CM Punk to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza on September 20th.
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE sources heavily implied AJ Lee would be appearing, or would be heavily referenced on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Many staff and talent who talked about AJ Lee noted that they haven’t spoken to her, or seen her since she left WWE, but that she had maintained pleasant exchanges with them over the years she’s been away. A number of wrestlers in the women’s division who grew up with AJ Lee were reportedly very excited.
It’s being said that AJ Lee’s return isn’t necessarily a one off as WWE hopes to do more with her. However, the company is just happy to have AJ involved again even if she just returns for Wrestlepalooza.
