Last year Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE and Banks resurfaced earlier this year in NJPW as Mercedes Mone. Naomi, real name Trinity Fatu, recently confirmed that she’s also done with WWE, but she also confirmed that she’s not done with wrestling. Her comments have led to a lot of questions about her future in general, and whether or not she could join Mercedes Mone in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Bushiroad’s wrestling division has taken a major hit due to New Japan’s declines caused by the pandemic. Because of that the wrestling division is currently under pressure to keep spending down.
One example given is that the company was told they could bring in Trinity Fatu, but the feeling is that it would cost too much which is why the deal hasn’t been made yet.
At this point it’s not clear if the door is completely closed on the matter, or if Trinity could end up wrestling in Japan at some point. Do you want to see Trinity Fatu in NJPW? Sound off in the comments below.
