On Sunday night the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view aired live from Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX.
The show featured quite a few returns, such as the return of Edge who wrestled his first match in nine years, and MVP also briefly returned during the Royal Rumble match before he was eliminated by Brock Lesnar.
It was noted on Wrestling Observer Live that MVP will be sticking around for a few appearances with WWE.
There’s currently no word on what the company has planned for him, but it’s being said that he won’t be sticking around long term, and that he’s only returning for a short period of time.
The former WWE United States Champion revealed that the main reason he returned was for his kid when he posted the following on Instagram:
“If you will indulge me in a moment of pure, unapologetic selfishness, tonight wasn’t for me, or for any of YOU. Tonight was for this. For my Lil Dude. Thank you Rey. I love you bro! #royalrumble2020”
