2019 hasn’t been the best year for Matt Hardy, as he hasn’t been used consistently in WWE, but he did return to Raw this week where he was defeated by Buddy Murphy.
Recently Matt has been hyping up his “Free The Delete” videos on social media, and PWInsider is reporting that his current WWE contract is set to expire in February of 2020.
The two sides are reportedly in discussions, but how Matt Hardy will be used going forward is said to be the biggest sticking point.
It’s not a situation where Matt and WWE are far apart on money, but Matt realizes that this may be the last contract he signs in his career, and he wants to be used a certain way.
Matt is very grateful to have been able to return to WWE for this run, but if he does not sign a new deal he will be free to go elsewhere in February of 2020. Jeff would not be able to leave at the same time, as WWE has added time to his contract due to the time he’s missed because of his injury.
There’s still time for the two sides to reach a deal, but Matt is preparing for the future by hyping up his Broken Matt persona on YouTube.
