Luke Harper returned to the ring weeks ago, but the former Intercontinental Champion hasn’t had much of a presence on WWE programming.
Recently Harper publicly announced that he had requested to be released from his WWE contract, but it doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon.
After Harper requested his release, it was reported that WWE officials decided not to release him, but to instead add six months to his contract due to the time he missed because of his injury. Originally his contract was set to expire in November.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE has no future bookings for Luke Harper, but he will not be let out of his contract.
Luke Harper reportedly asked Vince McMahon if he could be released from his contract in November, since he’s not being used, and Vince told him to take it up with Triple H.
According to the report Triple H didn’t respond to Luke Harper.
It doesn’t look like WWE will be using Harper any time soon, and unless WWE changes their stance on adding six months to his deal, he will be with the company until around WrestleMania 36 next year.
