For many years Rusev and Lana were a power couple on WWE programming, but months ago WWE split them up and aligned Lana with Bobby Lashley.
Recently WWE has been teasing a split for Lana and Lashley, but fans won’t be seeing a Rusev/Lana reunion anytime soon because WWE released Rusev earlier this week.
Last year Lana signed a new WWE contract and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Lana will not be released.
Rusev hadn’t been used much as of late, and he was said to be in a contract dispute with WWE.
A few weeks ago Rusev donated $20,000 to his extended WWE family who were left without income during the pandemic.
