It’s been a long time since fans have seen Kenny Omega on AEW programming as he’s been out of action since November of last year due to injury. With All Elite Wrestling introducing the AEW Trios Titles, and the Young Bucks set to introduce a mystery partner on Dynamite there’s been a lot of speculation that Kenny Omega will be returning soon.
Fightful Select reports that when they spoke to Adam Cole earlier this year he said that it was unbelievable that Kenny Omega was able to work at a high level with all of his injuries. Omega was reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury, a leg/knee injury, a sports hernia and vertigo.
The former AEW World Champion briefly returned to the road with the company, but removed himself as he thought it was hindering his recovery. Kenny Omega consciously decided to avoid the public eye during his time away from the company. He was also said to have been an integral part of the development for the AEW Fight Forever video game with one person calling his input “crucial.”
In July tentative plans for FTR vs. The Young Bucks were shifted and several talent were told that this was due to Omega’s impending return. Stay tuned for more updates on Kenny Omega as they become available.
