Kane recently made his return to WWE programming when he reunited with Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live, and on Sunday he and Bryan challenged The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at Extreme Rules.
Prior to the match, The Bludgeon Brothers attacked Kane and Bryan backstage, and when Kane finally did enter the title match, he made his way down to the ring while wearing a walking boot.
PWInsider is reporting that Kane suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon last week on the go-home show for Extreme Rules, which is why WWE had The Bludgeon Brothers attack Team Hell No backstage.
Unfortunately it sounds like we’ve seen the last of Kane for a while, as it’s also being reported that he’s not expected to return to television anytime soon.
From here on out he will be focusing on his campaign to become Mayor of Knox County, TN.
