A few months ago WWE announced that Dean Ambrose would not be renewing his contract, and he parted ways with the company last month when his deal expired.
Even though he’s no longer with WWE, Ambrose has been keeping busy, as he quickly revealed that he’ll be using the Jon Moxley name going forward, and it was recently announced that he will be starring in a new MMA themed movie titled Cagefighter.
As soon as he left WWE, fans immediately started talking about the possibility of Moxley going to AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW is interested in signing Jon Moxley.
There’s been a lot of speculation in regards to who could be replacing PAC as Adam Page’s opponent at Double Or Nothing, but Meltzer also noted that Dean Ambrose isn’t expected to start working with wrestling companies until he’s done filming his movie.
It’s always possible that he could put the movie off for a day to appear at Double Or Nothing, but as if right now there’s no talk of that happening.
AEW officials still want to bring him in, and it’s been speculated that he could end up working with the company later this year, or after his movie wraps up.
