John Cena made his big return to WWE back in September and he made consistent appearances on WWE programming in the weeks that followed. The former WWE Champion found himself in a feud with The Bloodline which led to him and LA Knight picking up the victory over Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso in a tag team match at Fastlane. Cena then went on to lose to Solo Sikoa in a singles match at Crown Jewel, and he seemingly said goodbye to the fans as he made his way up the ramp.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that John Cena fulfilled his commitments to WWE, but he could make a comeback next year. It was also noted that John Cena was only back because of the SAG-AFTRA strike and now the strike is over.
It’s possible that John Cena may work a WrestleMania match next year and make sporadic appearances on TV. However, Cena isn’t expected to do a lot of wrestling moving forward.
John Cena recently underwent surgery on his elbow and he also confirmed that he will be undergoing surgery on his other elbow as well. Stay tuned for more updates on John Cena’s WWE status as they become available.
