For many years John Cena was without question the top star in WWE, and throughout the course of his career Cena has managed to win the WWE World Championship 16 times.
Ric Flair of course is also consistently promoted as a 16 time World Champion, so if Cena wins the big one at least one more time he will break The Nature Boy’s record.
However, it doesn’t sound like breaking Flair’s record is something that Cena is interested in doing.
Sportskeeda is reporting that sources within WWE have said that John Cena is done with winning the big belt.
“John does the job whatever the job is but he’s done with the big belt. He thinks he’s had more than enough. I don’t see it happening,” one source claimed.
It was also noted that Ric is all for John Cena breaking the record.
“There’s so much respect. They look at each other and see the generational talent, right? Sometimes records or streaks should be broken,” another source said. “Ric’s all for it. John isn’t. He doesn’t want it.”
