There was a lot of anticipation heading into Monday Night Raw this week as it was announced ahead of time that Seth Rollins would be defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal. In the days leading up to Raw, Jinder Mahal became the talk of the wrestling world thanks to an interesting Twitter exchange with AEW President Tony Khan.
Ultimately when Jinder and Seth Rollins faced off it was The Visionary who picked up the win. Fightful Select is reporting that there was never any consideration given to having Jinder Mahal win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It’s also being reported that WWE never considered having Damian Priest cash-in.
One way or another it will be interesting to see where Jinder Mahal goes from here and if he can capitalize on the attention he’s been getting over the last week or so.
Following Raw it was reported by PW Torch that Seth Rollins suffered an injury during the title match. The severity of the injury is unknown at this point in time. Stay tuned for updates.
