LA Knight has become one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster in recent months, but he was pulled from weekend events due to COVID-19. The Wrestling Observer reports that before the doors opened at the live event in Palm Desert, CA on Saturday night WWE announced that LA Knight was off the show and offered refunds.

This is notable because WWE normally only makes announcements like that for wrestlers who are on the level of someone like Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins, so it’s an indication that Knight is viewed highly by WWE as these type of announcements are rarely made.

Fightful Select originally reported that LA Knight was set to be part of the main event segment on SmackDown last week, but he was pulled from the show due to a positive COVID test and he had to leave the arena.

PWInsider recently reported that LA Knight gave WWE permission to pass on the results from his COVID test. It’s also being reported that LA Knight would have aligned himself with John Cena during the main event segment, and he would have teamed up with Cena in a dark match after the show.

Stay tuned for more updates on LA Knight’s status as they become available.
