It’s been over five years since CM Punk parted ways with WWE, but still fans constantly talk about the possibility of the former WWE Champion returning to the ring someday.
CM Punk recently shared his thoughts on where he’s at with wrestling while speaking at Starrcast, and he noted that he doesn’t have any animosity toward WWE. Punk also said that if someone from WWE called him he would listen.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the impression in WWE is that Punk wants back in, but it’s not something the company is counting on right now.
Punk received an offer from AEW, which he mentioned in an interview with ESPN, but it’s being reported that there has been no contact between the two sides since the interview.
A rep for Punk went to FOX and tried to push the idea of him working as the co-host for WWE’s studio show, but WWE wasn’t interested in him for that.
Main eventers in WWE for the most part are reportedly making more money now than when Punk was on top, and some are being allowed to work fewer dates.
With Punk turning 41 next month the clock is ticking on a potential return, and the feeling is that even though WWE went hard at him in the lawsuit, WWE is the place he feels he could make the most money.
