According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA recently made a big play for AJ Styles and Karl Anderson in hopes that they could get them for their premiere on POP TV. It’s being reported that Karl Anderson was offered a deal in the range of $200k but he turned it down and opted to work with WWE instead.
On a related note, TNA is once again offering guaranteed contracts as the company is trying to control outside bookings. Talents are still allowed to book indie events but the promoters would have to go through TNA to book talents that are on TV. It’s being reported that these new deals would include decent guaranteed money as opposed to being paid per appearance. These new deals are also likely for top talents that will be pushed in 2016.
TNA has also informed their talents that they will be getting more aggressive with merchandising this year.
