A few months ago Eric Bischoff was hired to be the Executive Director of SmackDown, but WWE announced today that Bruce Prichard will be taking over the role.
PWInsider is reporting that as of Tuesday afternoon Eric Bischoff is no longer with WWE. He was told about his removal from the role of Executive Director following a creative meeting for SmackDown.
It’s also being said that since Eric Bischoff was hired as an executive, not a talent, he likely doesn’t have the 90 day no compete clause, so he could pop up somewhere else.
WWE issued a statement on Bruce Prichard taking over the role of Executive Director, and according to F4Wonline.com, Prichard and head writer Ed Koskey will be in charge of SmackDown going forward.
Bruce is a great producer, good friend and I am certain he is going to thrive in his position. He’s going to be working with a great team of the most dedicated and hard working people I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know. https://t.co/aMKk8d3Rx7
