AEW announced their new show Collision on Wednesday and it had been rumored that CM Punk would be returning for the debut episode of the show, but Punk was not mentioned in the announcement. Now there seems to be a lot of confusion in regard to what the future holds for Punk and AEW.

Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling is reporting that CM Punk is still with AEW and that he seems to be motivated to help the company’s growth however he can. Punk’s relationship with Tony Khan is reportedly on sound footing with communication remaining open between the two men. It’s being said that there are no issues between CM Punk and Tony Khan.

It’s also being reported that AEW re-hired Ace Steel several months ago, but that Steel has not actively been working in the backstage area. When Steel was re-hired he was told he would be working with Tony Khan in creative in some capacity with the idea being that he would work remotely instead of backstage to make sure his presence didn’t upset any of the talent.

The understanding was that Ace Steel would return to the road to work as an agent when Collision debuted. However, a decision was made on Tuesday not to bring Steel back on the road and Punk found out about it shortly after. It’s being said that after that there was some miscommunication between lawyers and Punk was pulled from the Collision announcement.
