CM Punk has been pretty quiet since the AEW All Out pay-per-view in September, and there’s a lot of talk about his future as it’s been reported that AEW is in talks to buy out his contract.
Fightful Select has confirmed reports that there’s no active litigation against CM Punk following the physical altercation with The Elite at All Out. It was also noted that The Elite are expected to return soon, but there are no active plans to bring Punk back to AEW.
A WWE source noted that the company would possibly be interested in working with CM Punk. Reps from multiple other companies have also confirmed they’d be interested in talking with Punk, but they’re not sure how motivated he is to continue with his wrestling career. Several people on the signing circuit noted that CM Punk would be in demand if he’s still available.
One source close to CM Punk said that he “got the wrestling bug again,” and that they wouldn’t rule out Punk wrestling in the future. However, that’s a long way away as he’s currently injured, and it’s not clear how CM Punk will feel once his situation with AEW gets sorted out. The source also noted that it’s been made clear to them that Punk has options available if he wants to wrestle again.
