Fans waited 7 years for CM Punk to return to wrestling and it finally happened last year when he joined AEW. However, there’s been a lot of speculation regarding Punk’s future following the physical altercation he got into with The Elite at All Out in September.
It’s been reported that AEW is looking to buy out Punk’s contract as he’s not expected to return to the company. Nick Hausman recently commented on CM Punk’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that people who know Punk are claiming he might not wrestle again.
“Cash does not seem to be an issue for this guy. He’s got in-roads in Hollywood going on right now. Stephen Amell certainly shining him up with what they’re trying to do over on Heels right now. I have a lot of people that have known Punk that say to me ‘This guy’s never gonna wrestle again’.”
Only time will tell what the future holds for CM Punk, but it seems that walking away from the wrestling business completely could be an option for him.
