The Royal Rumble is set to air live from Saudi Arabia on Saturday and anticipation for the event has been building for weeks now. Everyone has been waiting to see who the surprise entrants will be and there’s been a lot of speculation regarding a potential Chris Jericho return.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is a possibility Chris Jericho will show up at the Royal Rumble, and as of a month ago he was expected to return at the event.

A possible WWE return for Chris Jericho has been a hot topic for some time now as it was rumored that his contract with All Elite Wrestling would be expiring at the end of 2025. However, as of this writing Jericho is still being featured on the AEW roster page on the company’s official website.

Chris Jericho first signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and he went on to become the first ever AEW World Champion. He was featured consistently in the years that followed, but it’s been a while since AEW fans have seen Jericho as he has not appeared on AEW programming since April of 2025 when he dropped the ROH World Championship to Bandido at the Dynasty pay-per-view.

Jericho last appeared on WWE programming in April of 2018 when he competed in the Greatest Royal Rumble match which was won by Braun Strowman.
