On Monday Night Raw Brock Lesnar destroyed Rey Mysterio and Mysterio’s son Dominik at the top of the show, and he later had to face the consequences.
Friday night on SmackDown Brock Lesnar defeated Kofi Kingston in a matter of seconds, and The Beast was then confronted by Cain Velasquez who showed up with Rey Mysterio by his side.
Cain Velasquez attacked Brock Lesnar, and it was recently reported that WWE offered a “huge money deal” to put Lesnar vs.Velasquez together for Crown Jewel later this month.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the deal between the two sides hit some snags, and WWE pulled the deal off the table because they were unhappy when word of Cain’s signing got out early.
It was also noted that in AAA Cain Velasquez made his debut as a masked high flyer, but WWE wasn’t looking for that type of persona as they wanted Cain to go back to his MMA roots.
Meltzer noted that in Cain’s interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN that Cain said he hadn’t signed yet. However Meltzer was told from WWE that Cain did indeed sign and he also noted that it wouldn’t make sense for WWE to run such a big angle if he wasn’t signed.
