Bryan Danielson has spent decades working as a professional wrestler and he won the AEW World Championship back in August at All In. Following the show Bryan declared that his full-time run would come to an end when he dropped the title. On Saturday night Bryan Danielson dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley in the main event at WrestleDream.
Fightful Select reports that Bryan Danielson specifically wanted to lose to Jon Moxley to end his full-time run. While many people wondered if the comments Bryan made about his health status during interviews were in character, it’s being said that those were all true. Danielson himself reportedly thought that he shouldn’t have done a couple of the matches he worked ahead of WrestleDream.
Bryan Danielson has legitimately been without a talent contract for months now and does not have any other contracts. Danielson is effectively a free agent right now, but has stated in interviews that he doesn’t see himself returning to WWE.
The hope within All Elite Wrestling is that Bryan Danielson will wrestle periodically and resume his additional duties for the company when he is ready.
Bryan Danielson’s big AEW World Championship win at All In had been planned since earlier this year. Swerve Strickland was adamant about tapping out to Bryan Danielson at All In as opposed to a finish where he would have passed out. It was known that Danielson would be the one to end Swerve Strickland’s title reigns since virtually the beginning.
