Brock Lesnar is one of the top stars in WWE, but it’s been a while since fans have seen him on TV. The Beast Incarnate dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 last year, and he has yet to return. SummerSlam is right around the corner and fans couldn’t help but wonder if WWE would bring in Lesnar as the company is reportedly trying to make the show a WrestleMania level event.
Andrew Zarian noted on the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast that WWE wanted Brock Lesnar for SummerSlam, but the plan didn’t work out. It was noted that something with creative just wasn’t fitting. On the financial side it’s also being reported that WWE wants Brock Lesnar to commit to live shows.
WWE has been working on a deal for Lesnar to return, and though it’s believed that he will return at some point it’s being said that he’s not needed for SummerSlam. However, if Brock Lesnar said he wanted to work the show then thee company would likely find a way to work him in.
Lesnar is reportedly in WWE’s future plans, but there’s no word on what the former Universal Champion will be doing when he returns, or when he’ll be returning.
Stay tuned for more updates on Brock Lesnar’s return as they become available.
