Last year Bray Wyatt returned to TV with a new gimmick, and since then he’s been featured as one of the company’s top stars.
However, after he was defeated by Braun Strowman at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view back in May he took some time off.
Bray Wyatt and JoJo welcomed their daughter Hyrie into the world on May 28, and it was noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bray took time off to be with his family.
Wyatt taking time off is why WWE booked Strowman in a 2-on-1 handicap match against The Miz and Morrison at Backlash.
Bray Wyatt is once again back in the mix, as it’s been confirmed that he will face Braun Strowman in a Wyatt Swamp Fight at Extreme Rules. The match will be a cinematic match, and the Universal Title will not be on the line.
It’s not clear at this point in time if Bray Wyatt will be appearing in person on SmackDown before Extreme Rules.
