For years Bray Wyatt was one of the most talked about stars in all of WWE, but the company shocked the world last summer when they decided to release the former champion.
Fightful Select reports that Vince McMahon no longer being in control is a good sign that WWE and Bray Wyatt could reconcile. One talent noted that they could tell by last year that Vince was just “done” with Bray Wyatt.
It’s being said that Vince McMahon would often shout derogatory things to Bray about his physique, and the belief is that Vince’s responses stemmed from the fact that Bray would criticize lack of creative direction for his characters. When word would emerge of Bray having a “bad attitude” it would come from people who worked directly with Vince.
There were also apparently other rumors that were spread within that inner circle to ease the heat of releasing Bray, but those who worked with the former Universal Champion were quick to shoot the rumors down. One higher up also said that McMahon had reservations whenever Bray Wyatt’s name was brought up after his release.
One higher up reportedly said, “When things were s**t, Wyatt would say they were s**t, and Vince saw that as difficult to deal with.”
A major point of frustration was when Wyatt feuded with Orton for months and then plans for the WrestleMania match were changed just days before. Orton was originally supposed to lose and take months off. One person noted that there was never a long-term plan for the story which frustrated those involved with it.
The belief is that if Triple H thinks a talent can make the company money he’ll likely throw whatever issues they had with Vince McMahon out the window. One person who worked heavily with Bray added that they’ve heard his name brought up. Several current talent noted that would “go to bat” for Bray even though they don’t think he would need it.
Those close to Wyatt have gotten quiet regarding his situation, and it’s been confirmed that his name has at least been pitched for a return with creative. However, that doesn’t guarantee a return as many names have been pitched.
