All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019, and since then a number of names who were with the promotion from day one have since left the company. Recently Mike Santana took to social media to issue a statement confirming that he is officially done with AEW.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Mike Santana’s AEW departure wasn’t a surprise as he hadn’t been happy in AEW for a long time. Santana reportedly wanted a singles push that wasn’t materializing, so he just wanted out.
Santana beat Ortiz in a grudge match back in October of 2023 and was not used again. While Santana will no longer be a part of AEW moving forward he is still actively wrestling and currently holds the House of Glory Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship.
