Typically on AEW Dynamite it’s Jim Ross, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone who call the action during the show, but in recent months AEW has been switching things up by having Jim Ross only call the second hour on the show.
However, Jim Ross is now back to calling both hours of AEW Dynamite and Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that Tony Khan has been making the call week to week when it comes to the commentary situation.
“It’s all Tony Khan. Every one of these decisions is Tony Khan, and he changes the decision. I remember the first week when he did it (had Jim Ross only call the second hour of Dynamite), I asked him, ‘Is this a new permanent thing?’, and it’s just like, ‘Well it’s something we can do.’
“He’s not committed to anything as the permanent thing. I think it’s just kinda like what he feels is the deal… you kinda go by hunches a lot. Some weeks his hunch is that you do that, some weeks the hunch is not to do it.”
