Over the last few months there’s been a lot of talk about CM Punk as there’s a lot of interest in his status with AEW following Punk’s physical altercation with The Elite that took place after All Out.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that as of the weekend CM Punk was still under contract with AEW and being paid by the company. People close to Punk have said that he’s ready to move on to his next project, but his release is being held up on AEW’s side.
The Elite recently returned to AEW programming at the Full Gear pay-per-view and they’re currently involved in a best of 7 series with Death Triangle. During their recent match with Death Triangle in Chicago, The Elite seemingly mocked CM Punk when Kenny Omega hit the GTS and Matt Jackson botched a Buckshot Lariat much like Punk did when he faced Adam Page at Double or Nothing.
CM Punk has mostly been quiet since the incident at All Out, but he did crack a joke about being bad for the locker room while doing commentary for a recent CFFC show. Stay tuned for updates.
