Recently MJF challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear and it was MJF who walked out with the belt. In the weeks leading up to the show it was teased that MJF could turn face, but during the main event he used brass knuckles that were handed to him by William Regal to win the gold. MJF then later cemented his status as the top heel in the company when he turned on William Real and attacked him from behind.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there was talk of making MJF the lead babyface in AEW coming out of the Full Gear pay-per-view.
However, Tony Khan made the call the keep MJF a heel and it seems that the window for MJF to turn has closed for many more months. MJF will defend his AEW World Championship later this week at Winter Is Coming against Ricky Starks.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
