Last month CM Punk and Ace Steel were involved in a physical altercation with The Elite following the All Out pay-per-view, and during the altercation Ace Steel allegedly bit Kenny Omega.
Several names were suspended following the brawl including Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite. However, it seems that Ace Steel’s time with AEW has come to an end as it was reported that he’s been released.
Ace Steel recently tweeted “Freedom” a fan on the Wrestling Observer message board speculated that Steel found out he was going to be released ahead of time, but only recently got the news officially.
However, that doesn’t appear to be the case as Dave Meltzer claimed Ace Steel was surprised by the news when he responded with, “Nope, he actually thought the opposite and was surprised.”
There’s currently no word on what the future holds for The Elite and CM Punk regarding when they could return to AEW, but they were referenced during this week’s episode of Dynamite. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
